Hook & Tackle Captain's Party helps raise $300,000.00 for the Miami Dolphins Charity Foundation.
Thu, Jun 05, 2008

Miami Based Hook & Tackle Outfittters sponsored The 12th annual Miami Dolphins Fishing Tournament Captain's Party this year in South Beach. With over 1300 people in attendance including Miami Dolphin players, #1NFL Draft pick Jake Long, Ronnie Brown, Matt Roth, Ricky Williams, John Beck, plus coaches and alumni. The Miami Dolphins General Manager Jeff Ireland, Head Coach Tony Sporano and Miami Dolphins president Bryan Weidmeier were extremely pleased with the event.

Stan Rudman, owner of Hook & Tackle and co-chairman of the event was very thrilled with the turn-out.

"I still can not get over how many people simply we had in the tent.  Excellent food, great band and a room full of South Florida's most powerful individuals all enjoying themselves. We raffled off two tickets for the 2009 Super Bowl in Tampa along with 4 night stay at an NFL Team hotel. We also had a large part of the revenue come from the live and silent auctions.  I am already working on 2009!"

The largest fish caught this year was a 57 pound Dolphin, it was an incredible crowd pleaser. With close to 100 boats entered, it could not have been a better venue.

In the one night event, $300,000.00 was raised for charity. The Miami Dolphins Foundation benefits Cystic Fibrosis, Habitat for Humanity, Boys and Girls Clubs, CCA, UM Sylvester Cancer Research, and much more.
