Anglers can earn more than $13,000 in cash prizes by pursuing acrobatic dolphin fish during the seventh annual Yamaha Dolphin Masters Invitational, scheduled Saturday, May 31, in the waters around Key West.
First-place honors await the angler scoring the highest total combined weight of three dolphin catches. The cash purse is based on participation by a field of 25 boats.
The second-place winner is to receive a four-night tropical fishing vacation for four.
The angling challenge is headquartered in Key West's Historic Seaport at the Conch Republic Seafood Co., 631 Greene St.
Tournament events are to kick off at 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 30, with a final registration, captains meeting and party.
The following morning, fishing is to begin with a Bimini start at 7 a.m. Anglers are to weigh in their dolphin at the Conch Republic Seafood docks 3:30-4:30 p.m., and an awards party is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Conch Republic Seafood.
The tournament is open to all anglers and the entry fee is $750 per boat. There is no limit on the number of boats that can register.
